PostSubject: Advice needed boost problem...   Advice needed boost problem... EmptySun 10 Jun - 18:29

Hi all

I had car decatted a few wks ago, engine management light came on not long after so ive tried not to drive it too much untill i get it mapped...

When i have drove it thow even with management light on it has drove ok..

untill today i had to use car & was fine at first, it got better of me & i put my toe down a little & it seemed as if boost was coming on ok in lower gears but in higher gears as getting quicker car started making a loud whistling noise with little or no boost.....Sort of seemed as if boost was being turned off & on.......

its normal for CEL light to show after decat

this can be sorted via remap, or cheaper solution is a adaptor what fits between exhaust and lamba (about £5)

the problems you saying about the boost ??

sounds like a split or loose hose Wink

who fitted ya decat ?

Take my car to andy k......i wernt too fussed about cel light as was told this might happen when got it fitted so expected it to come on anyway & it was driving fine......

Its mainly the way boost was starting to play up i wernt sure if might of had something to do with decat & no map......Think checking all pipes is first port of call then...

That adaptor which fits between exhaust / lambda ...will it put light out in short term untill i can get it mapped..is it an easy job to do..& when fitted will i have to get codes cleared to put it out...?

Cheers

Nah m8 free to good home lol I bought it with the intention of fitting it when I first had the downpipe changed but parked the car up for 3 month and waited to get it mapped, I'm not 100% were it is but I'll have a look for you m8 it's brand new, sure it's just a 24mm fitting that you put in first then screw the lambda into it and it minimises the gap or something like that
