Wont start !!

Well its sods law,the cars been laied up for ages and when its time to get it ufor its MOT it just wont start , not even firing.I have put a new battery on it and still nothing.
Its a 93 WRX with a new 2.5 lump in it, its been run up to temp about 5 or 6 times, without problems.

last week I started it again and let it warm up and it was squeaking , and each time the sweak it slowed dow a little. Started then it stalled on the drive and now noting. Squeak sounds like a belt, maybe the alt trying to charge the battery ?

Anyway i have used some cold start and its not even poping !

If the spark is not there I assume its a faulty alarm.

Can the crank or cam sensor just fail ?

Its being looked at next week ,i hope its an easy fix,need to get it maped soon!

is fuel pump priming ??

and yes faulty cam or crank sensors will prevent it starting


have you checked for fault codes ?

It could be the alarm, however, each time I let the alarm go past its start time it imobolises the car, this is shown by each time I try to start it all the lights are dead. by reseting the key fob I get the pump priming and then go to start it, but I think its def electrical. I have a local garage who will try to get it going as I have alot on at work at the moment. I just thinking as its not popping using cold start , I expect an electrical fault. As the engine is a new build I will drop my mechanic pal a text to jog his memory about the sensors. I am a bit worried about the squeak its timed with the engine revolution, not a random one.

The plan is get the MOT, run around off bost for a week then get it mapped up to the max of the injectors and 16G turbo.

Enjoy the car and then upgrade later to a 6 speed and approc 400bhp. (Find some good brakes 4 pots wont do)

Thanx for the info as the sensors have been relocated into the new engine maybe they have broken.

remove and replace battery + or -, some alarms and immobilisers reset, make sure ya radio isnt coded
