Ide check for a air leak for the spluttering. Run a dinostics check on it for the engine light mate. It can be done by connecting two plugs under the steering column

Why did you change to front mount in first place?
As drew said plug the 2 black connectors together under steering column and count the flashes then cross reference with the table below to diagnose your problem

Ignition would do it bud youl hear things clicking in the engine bay . To reset it i think you plug the green ones in too then drive OFF boost for a few mile slowly till the engine light comes on then stop and disconect the plugs. It will all be in that link bud

It will flash quickly mate quick flash for 1s then a longer flash for 10s theyle be a break of around 2/3 seconds befor it starts next code.
Out of curosity does the engine light come on when sat at around 70mph or up hills low revs ect as mine did and was lambda

What fuel you using might sound a dadt question but ive seen a few scoobs running normal unleaded which isnt good. You changed filters ? Could be a air leak on the intake side of things after the maf that would cause problems as its unmeterd air.
