Bloody typical. Turbo fitted and remapped, then it snows and just as I'm off out for a play, I find the crankshaft pulley has separated and threw the PAS belt. Shocked Shocked

Is this a common fault where the rubber damper separates?

Also, replace with a stock one from Drew, Finn etc. or splash out for a shiny lightweight one?

Another thought, if the rubber is there to act as a harmonic damper, can the lightweight pulleys cause long term damage due to vibration?

Replace with a standard one mate, you are correct about it being a harmonic damper.

I have never heard of a standard one failing to be honest, plenty aftermarket shiney ones fail though.

Alot of damper pulley delaminate, L200 are terrible for it. I'd be inc, ined to fit a standard unit but i had an alloy one but onto my truck (L200) and it was fine for the 2 year i had it.
