| Check the rubber bit on the end of your throttle cable. The bit that sits in the cable stay sometimes they come out of place and get stuck.. If its not that remove the throttle position sensor from the top of your idle control valve and give it a clean with some WD40. The idle control valve is located on the right side of the throttle body just in front of your intercooler and the throttle position sensor has a plug going in and two screws either side of the top that allow you to adjust the position either clockwise or anticlockwise.. | |

| It's the top part of the idle control vale Oggy the bit with the plug socket on if you take the two screws out the top of the idle control valve the throttle position sensor will come off. Adjusting the position of this either clockwise or anticlockwise will alter your idle rpms so remember where is was set | |

| Yea it would start and run if its goosed your ecu will estimate an air fuel mixture.. Normally will throw up a check engine light and put the car into limp mode putting a rev limiter on at about 40000 RPM, but this is not always the case so the best way to check is to unplug it with the engine running if it keeps running then your ecu is already running on an estimated mixture and it won't cut out. If the maf is ok the engine will cut out when you unplug it for technical unreasons unknown to me Start the engine unplug the maf sensor takes about 30 seconds and gives you an instant problem possibility elimination if the car cuts out | |

| Your MAF is ok.
As for your problem, not really sure, sounds like the throttle cable is a bit stiff going back to rest. When you blip throttle then do it again does the car pick up straight away on second blip? Or does it take its time to pick up? Does that make sense? That would suggest the cable is sticking in its sheath.
Throttle body could be sticking open, take it off and give it a clean. I set out a thread on how to do it a while back, I'll see if I can find it. | |

| Highly unlikely that the throttle cable is sticking, I cleaned it numerous times when I had it, made sure it was running as free as it should and never cured it, always used to do it when say pulling up to lights if I dipped the clutch the revs would Increase slightly and hold for a split second before dropping, even tho you cleaned the idle control valve I still think this could be causing the problem I maybe wrong mind | |
