Subject: sticking front drivers side caliper? Wed 27 Mar - 16:26
hey guys! not been on for a while due to house move and general hectic-ness! lol. as above drove home to day and felt the car slowing its self. when i was at slow speeds.with the clutch dipped, no squeeling. felt around the car and the front drivers side disc was quite hot. all others fine. is it easy to strip and grease / free off? or will it need a new piston?? thanks in advance!!

We had problems with ours and Finn overhauled the calipers, sorry can't remember exactly what was involved but it did the trick.

Thanks for the reply.is it something you can wait on being done or do the calipers need to be sent away?

I took mine off and used some WD40 and a lever to move the piston, eventually freed itself up, might be worth a try before spending money on getting it overhauled? Take calliper off Take pads out Press brake a little so the piston comes out a bit Spray plenty WD40 onto piston(s) Use lever to push it back in (you might have to loosen the brake reservoir cap) Repeat until it frees up.
