Anyone no price for mapping classic as mine needs checked/ map

As for some reason idle keep jump up Down and cuts out when slowing down

Sounds like a faulty idle control valve or it could have something to do with the hole in your air intake pipe..

Hi. Yes it sometimes used to do that with us. Only when hard slowing down coming to stop and letting go of clutch. I got used to it in the end. I was told it can be its a heavy load clutch with very light flywheel so change of power can cause it to drop quickly and another tuner said the dump valve can cause it too. Then another tuner said It will either need a hks idle stabilizer (eids) "cheap on eBay" fitting or on very low revs the fuel ratio raising which can be done from the apexi safc controller on dash but don't know how. However it shoul never do it when blasting through the gears or driving on journeys.

I think the previous owner is/was talking hot air ...

Sort out the issues and get the mapping checked out,

Why not get Drew or some-one to check it over for you, like a mini health check and if all seems fine get the mapping checked. A decent mapper AndyF say will explain things as he goes, highly recommended.

Do you not know who has already mapped the car as it will probably be cheaper from the same mapper as it will just be a tweak instead of using a different mapper and being charged for a full map

The car will be running the standard ECU, it's using piggybacks to get the power up, not the best way to do it to be honest as a lot of the parameters can't be adjusted like it can with a fully mappable ECU, my advice is get shot of the SAFC etc and fit a proper mappable ECU like an Apexi power FC or Simtek/Alcatek or what ever they are called these days

Arr I assumed it was running a apexi ecu, didn't realise it was std ecu with a chip

They don't even run a chip mate, fuel cut defender with a boost controller and fueling adjusted using the SAFC, it's what was done in the olden days before even link ECU's

Not a big fan of it to be honest as it can cause a lot of running problems like what Gary is getting now.

A lot of the imports are tuned like this aren't they. Either this or some mines ecu ..

Gary its not going to be cheap to buy a simtek and get it mapped properly that's why they are mapped like they are cos a stand alone ecu and remap is about £1000
