Deleted post

I put a post in the muppet room on Monday night after playing with photoshop (again!) poor turbodave was the victim this time with his arm hanging out the window with a huge pink vibrator in it (that was because he took 100s of batteries to the nbo) I have spoke to him and he has seen the pic and thinks its funny aswell (I would not do it to anyone who does not have a sense of humour!!)

Anyway when I woke up it was gone and am wondering why??

i think someone bid on the vibrator and won it !!

I was a bit gutted to see he can chuck bigger flames out than me lol

Think it's a joke it's a muppet room and intended for a laugh.. We going down the tts road of not having a laugh.. Am starting to wonder if its worth coming on here anymore

I know what ya mean,there is no fun in having to think twice if you can post something or not were old enough to make a decision and like I said its a muppet room if easily offended or under 18 stay out

Muppet room should be admin free!! We're all old enough to behave mod's only to 'police it'

If Turbo Dave has complained about it then fair enough. I think it's time we had some new Mods to be honest I'm not disrespecting the ones we have currently or suggesting they be de modded (if that makes any sense) I'm just saying we need extra ones because 75% of the current ones are like ghosts.

I have spoke to Dave and sent him the pic and was all ready to apologise if he was offended but Dave does not mind at all!!

I don't wanna put the pic on here to let every one decide if its bad or not!

All of the mods/admin have the permissions to remove stuff - normally if I remove something, I send a PM and give the reason why I have.

I haven't been about much since Sunday - so don't know anything about it. It might look like I have been online because my phone stays logged in but I have only been on very briefly.

Daz sent me the pic via my phone so I know what it was but if it was in the muppet room then it should have been ok.

I tried to show Dave it at the meet last night but couldn't find it. I described it to him and he was pissing himself laughing. He does have a sense of humour and we all get on great and there is no malice intended at all. Can't believe it was deleted. I must not be up to date with forum rules but I thought muppet room was for exactly that purpose. A good laugh for the not so sensitive and easily offended adults. As Daz said if Dave was offended I am sure he would have said sovand then we could have addressed it quickly and painlessly. I am all for sensible moderation but sometimes when stuff just disappears it makes it feel like a police state. I always think twice beford I post nowadays and it never felt like that 6 months ago.

Well one person like I said 2 people can't delete one thing..

I have done them for loads of people including Jonny and everyone thought it was a laugh,am just not gonna bother,seems to be the easiest solution

Well that's obvious .. unless you think it's the same person deleting everything maybe?

What you've got to remember as well is that this is an open forum and anyone can see alot of the categories (not sure if the muppet room can be or not though .. will have to go look - so if a kid for instance likes Subaru's and does a search and comes across this page then they could see alot more than was bargained for. So if it were really near the knuckle I would have taken it off but not guilty this time m'laud.

Yes the muppet room can be seen by anyone - might have to look at having that removed from public display.

Ah, that's good because I always PM to say why I have done what I do - I admit I will take things off that are too near the knuckle or if I think they might be deliberately trying to upset someone but will PM and say why - so hoped it wasn't aimed at me - I try to be fair but you can't please everyone.

I've put a thread in the MOD area anyway now to see about closing the muppet room to public display - so hopefully if that is closed to public view, nobody can be offended if they don't choose to go in there.

I didnt vape it either but if it could have got the site into bother in any way it would probably have been taken down, but usually the OP gets a PM explaining why. I didnt see the pic so cant give you a reason in this particular instance.

Just ref the Mods comments, I think "police state" is maybe a little harsh Mario  , but appreciate everyone is entitled to an opinion. As per Nics comments we'll take a look at the muppet room and see what our web hosting software will allow us to do. There maybe the option that you have to click a box to get in or something like that, as per the protection used on certain other special interest websites  

Just to give you facts, we've hosted over 130,000 posts on here since our inception. That covers over 15,000 topics and averages out at about 110 posts per day. I think Ive been a Mod for about 2 years now and I'd be surprised I've seen more than 1 post pulled per week, if that. I'm trying to get at the data to show you, but I suspect its probably less than Ive quoted. In most cases, the deletions have been for the OP's own good (ie libelous or likely to get them a battering) or they have been traders who add very little to the site or or theyve been blatant trolls or its been overly predjudicial - racist, homophobic etc. Thankfully thats rare and in that case the same rules would apply to any other website out there, eg. scoobynet, nasioc etc.

The muppet room can be closed to the public - just waiting for confirmation from the other mods/admin that they want it closed to public view and I will flick the switch
