No 2nd gear? Help!

This morning I lost 2nd gear on my 2002 bugeye sport.

It was fine driving out of york in the rush hour, and fine when I went round the roundabout at the end of the A59 to join the A1. When I left the motorway to go towards Bishop Auckland, I set off from the roundabout and couldn't get 2nd gear. It was the same all the way to work, and the same on the way home again. Every other gear is fine and the car is driving fine.

There isn't any gear grinding noises, the gear stick just feels solid when trying to get 2nd and doesn't move.

Anyone got any ideas? I do a lot of miles in my impreza and it is my everyday car so need it sorting asap really.

The syncro will prob be knackered bud. Have you had a look to see if it has oil in? Should be a dipstick at back of engine bay. Rebuild or 2nd hand gearbox will be needed unless its something simple which i doubt.

Could also be a bush issue.

Had it in the garage this morning, its the gearbox.

So does anybody know the best place to get mine reconditioned or happen to have a 2002 gx gear box for sale haha.
