Evening folks,

Seriously looking at getting my self a Subaru, I'm particularly interested in a earlier hawk eye.... In black

I'm currently driving a MK1 Skoda Fabia vRS which is a fantastic all rounder, nippy enough and is returning an average of 45mpg....

What's the running costs like on the Subaru? I know it will be a lot more than the Fabia is but hey ho you only live once.

Thanks Smile

Hello mate - welcome along. I have a Black Hawk STI - last one though September 2007 so highest tax bracket. Mine is highly modified but even when it was moderately modified I was getting about 20mpg as Mousey says but I did get about 28/29 on a motorway run.

It's the modifications that will cost you the money though - it's like Pringles...once you pop you just can't stop!!

Evening, Subaru is a good choice ... especially if you like being skint! The modifications are like a slippery slope...

You trading the VRS in for one or keeping it aswell ?

If your even remotely bothered about mpg, a subaru probably isnt the car for you lol, saying that for what you spend extra in fuel you will get back tenfold in smiles Smile)

Welcome aboard, I also have a early Hawk Sti and like others have said get around 20-22mpg, but it's great fun and the boost and modifications become an addiction.

Alright bud welcome aboard. I've got the 2L blobeye STi slightly modified and I'm not gonna lie I couldn't afford to use it as an everyday car.. Luckily I work away so it's my every other weekend go-kart Smile personally speaking getting a Subaru was the best move I've ever made..

Welcome aboard mate. My 04 Blob was running 320ish Bhp and still returning 27-30 mpg with a mixed helping of driving and was an everyday car. If you drive them like you stole them all the time it will obviously drink more but if you are sensible you can find a decent balance, but you'll never see 45 in a month of Sundays  Laughing
