New Lad From The North East Empty
PostSubject: New Lad From The North East   New Lad From The North East EmptyMon 9 Dec - 0:10

Hello everyone, I just thought i would join this forum as I'm looking to buy a Subaru and thought i should introduce myself and tell you abit about myself.
My name is Stu and i live in Durham, i'm 23 and i will proudly admit i have been a vauxhall lad from the day i passed my test and i do still like them. I'm currently splitting my Corsa C Z20let running 300bhp. I'm just waiting for bits to sell to fund my new motor. i recently bought a GT35 turbo to go for bigger power and i planned to forge my engine this winter but had a change of heart and i think its time to move up abit.

Some of you may question why i have joined now before i have bought my car, and the simple answer i'll give to that is, I was hoping to check the forums for a car sales thread to see what else is out there. I have checked autotrader, pistonheads and various other sites to see what catches my eye... i think i will probably get a blob eye 2005 STI.

I plan to come to some meets and show my face and hopefully pick up some knowledge of the cars and meet new like minded people who have the same mutual love for cars and engines as i do! Cool

I don't track my car mate as it's my everyday driver - go to work, take kids to school, etc - running around 480bhp with 475 ft/lbs torque - the black one in this pic

"running around 480bhp with 475 ft/lbs torque" can sure get you're kids to school on time! Beautiful mate, both of them! Love black cars with black rims, I'm hoping to get my hands on a nice clean black one myself.. and i hope i don't offend anyone when i say this but... blue scooby's seem to be pretty common.. i've always loved black or white cars and i'll continue to buy them, just takes that little bit extra attention to clean them haha

Welcome aboard Stu, smart thinking getting on here and doing your homework. Some great folks on here, more experience of these cars than you can possibly imagine. I think we'd all admit to making some excellent choices and some not so excellent ones, so look and listen and save youself some grief. And when it comes time to part with some dollars, dont be too swift - the right car is out there for you, dont be too hasty. And post any links in here of stuff you fancy, we might even know it.

And finally they are all wrong on the colour front but Ive given up trying to educate them.

Welcome to the world where you can have power and traction....at the same time Stu!!

Take your time when looking to make sure you get a minter for your money, I spent 18 months looking for mine and had to make a 600 mile round trip to pick it up.

When I started I was set on a blue or black one. But I would still check every one that went up for sale. I ended up with a crystal grey one and I love it!

Anyway plenty of people on here that know insane amounts about Scoobys and are always happy to help!
