Fitting sti Discs on a wrx Empty
PostSubject: Fitting sti Discs on a wrx   Fitting sti Discs on a wrx EmptyTue 27 Jul - 22:37

i got Sti brakes to go on to my wrx blob eye, when stripping the rear discs from the hub of the sti i noticed that the handbrake shoes are about 20mm wider than on the wrx, what do i need to do to get the wrx to accept the sti brake discs, they are both 100pcd and i have all the hubs etc from the sti.
i will be ordering new discs, are there any that will be big enough for the brembo calipers but retain the standard wrx handbrake components ?

Is there a fitting guide anywhere to show me what i need to do ?

you need modified handbrake shooes and also mounting brackets for the caliper if fitting rear brembos to a newage wrx, newage STI rear hubs will not go on a wrx due to the driveshafts, the only other car rear brembos will bolt straight on too is a type r

yep fronts straight on, you would need a larger rear diff (STI R180) and shafts before u cud fit the hubs, godspeed does a conversion kit i think (shoes and brackets) for mounting brembos on wrx rear hubs

Thats the one he says i will only need them, he says no brackets will be needed.

Would it be pos to cut the sti shoe and weld it onto the top of the wrx shoe adding the extra 10mm each one would need or should i just stump up the £135 for the special shoes ? hate to pay that much for a set of shoes
