Car is booked in for forged pistons after telling the wife its a factory fault that could fail any minute and nothing to do with power gains. pmsl So i put the below comment on facebook hoping my mate Greigy would reassure her.
Facebook convo goes like this.
ME: Carl Clyne: Well the new subaru is booked in for engine work already (forged pistons). A load of cash i wasn't planning on spending but better get it done now rather than risking the engine going pop!
Carl Clyne: Hey Neil Greig, My wife thinks i am pulling her leg about changing the pistons, tell her what is going to happen to that car if i do not get it forged ? ---------------------------- The comment: Neil Greig : Haha it will only go if engine is put under a lot of pressure your car is still standard with the smaller version turbo you would be lucky to get 300bhp with that turbo on with your 1st map but to get that power you will also need to decat/sports cat 3" full exhaust system an change fuel pump to a walbro 255 i maxed mine to the hilt and ran fine for 3 and half years.
Carl Clyne: Your meant to say yeah Natalie the engine is going to blow up any minute lol.... Knob head lol.

She wants her own car now, but i think its for the best Just gutted i sold that focus at Xmas i told her not to but she was adamant she was happy with the scooby (until yesterday!)

Think i am passed the engine rebuild problem now. Next is the turbo and intercooler problem
