New engine Empty
PostSubject: New engine    New engine EmptyMon 3 Mar - 19:51

Right, wanting a new engine for my scoob and ive been offered the following

1. 2008 2.5 litre pegged block fully forged long engine with ported/matched STi4 heads, quite capable for 500 bhp £3000

2.2002 STi7 short block here in good condition, £700 delivered

3.ej25 USDm semi closed deck sti engine mated to v3 sti heads cosworth head gaskets arp head studs £1100

4.a rebuilt 2.0 semi closed new age sti short engine, std spec but fully refurbished with acl race bearings, std size cross drilled crank, honed bores with new rings, new seals, new 11mm oil pump £1200 delivered
3 month warranty

Need some advice on the above choices please

It all depends how much you want to spend, for cheapness and if your current heads are ok the option 2.

If I went with option 3 would I be able to fit a newage sti intercooler? or would there still not be enough room just like my current set up (v2)?

The lad reckons option 3 will be a direct fit into any classic from v1-4, is this correct?

What does the USDm part of "ej25 USDm semi closed deck" mean?

To be honest option 1 is too expensive but id be willing to barter the price on option 3

Ahhhh the pennies dropped lol

united states domestic market Rolling Eyes Laughing

Ive edited the price at the top as I had got it wrong and he reckons its a direct fit into my car so hopefully ill be going with this option (no.3)

just waiting for word back from andy kindon

the 2.5 will be much better for torque so fingers crossed

Just keeping my v4 sti top mount for time being then might go for fmi and billet wheel in a years time or so mate. Would a newage sti tmi fit now with the newage block or would the inlet still be in the same position = not enough room  Crying or Very sad

Just looking forward to getting it back and not having to worry about it.
