| As title, what's the cost of a repair? Dont know what to do, never had summit like this happen on any car ive had. Our lass seen steam coming from the bonnet, pulled over and looked under the bonnet, the coolant bottle on the right was like a volcano. She limped it home, iv just come in from work and I have brown oily shit all over the battery, engine the lot. Smells of petrol/oil. Put water into expansion tank and pressed bottom hose and it sounds like bits of sludge moving about, water wouldn go down or anything. I'm either going to sell the car as is, repair it or break it. I'm plotless aswel at the moment. Pig fooking sick is the words | |

| My last classic had a fortune spent on the rebuild then it blew about 2 years later,(with the wife driving it). My mate blew his bought a used long block for about 350 quid and it was sound! I personally would get some quotes for a repair it might not be that bad, but also find out why it went. is it an import or uk car? has it had a remap? is it running mods without a remap etc! | |

| Its a V2 Sti import. Standard i believe apart from a full De,Cat. I put a post on a while ago about sum knob putting rad weld into it. Its probably that, that has caused it. | |

| Going to have a look sometime today. Its the brown horrible crap that makes me suspect the HG. It looks thickened coffee. I'm thinking if it is the HG i might strip the whole engine bay out. Good coat of paint clean it right up, during the meantime save up for a good engine to put in. Sell a few bits of my engine etc to raise some capital toward a it. Early days as things change. Cheers gary I'll get a good look today and cheers for the sympathy lads but these things happen and i gotta deal with it. | |

| Well, mr sawkins had a look, it aint good news either. Could be oily sludge left in the radiator.... Unlikely. Oil feed and water feed on turbo mixing things up But mainly the headgasket. He asked me to heat the system morrow, drain it out. Put some Mr Muscle sink and drain unblocker followed by water, heat again then drain out. Fill it again with water and see what happens. Not good i dont think. | |

| Just 1 of them things mate. Dont know if i should buy a engine, CDB from a Sti. Fix my engine but clean it up whilst its out. Or save like mad and buy a re manufactured 1. Can get mine fixed for around the £500 figure but in honesty i think iv lost trust in it. Was thinking if i should put the whole car on eBay and hope i get a good price for it. My head is battered with it lol. Still got the polo tho Anth lol. God Send that car | |
