This year we will have 3 district co-ordinators who will post up specific details in dedicated threads following this one. Pick the one that works for you and follow it for updates.
Marietto – Tyneside / KGT – Durham / Byers – Cleveland
The top level plan looks something like this :
Mario’s crew gather Kingston Park for 07:00 departure.
KGT crew gather D’ham Services, Bowburn for 07:45 departure.
Byers crew gather Wolviston for 06:45 departure, Teesside Retail for 07:15 departure and Scotch Corner for 08:05 departure.
We have to be on the LWV showfield and setting up by 09:00 (30 mins earlier than last year hence the time changes)
As above, each of the district co-ordinators will post a unique thread with specific meet times and arrangements, so please keep an eye on these in case anything changes. Use these threads to let them know of any specific needs or if you are pulling out etc so folks aren’t waiting about on the day while you are wrapped in the duvet.
If you are travelling from anywhere else and not joining the main convoy you need to be at the LWV showground for no later than 09:00 as we'll setting up soon as we get there. This year the stand design will be posted before the date so folks know what’s happening. Basic thinking is feature cars and show cars in front two rows, everyone else filling in behind.
It would be nice to get into some kind of order whilst the convoy is rolling, as organising 50+ cars when we get to the field can be comical / headache as we’ve seen before. Hopefully a bit of upfront prep this year will help us. I know its probably easier said than done but let's see if we can at least try.
Finally let’s keep things in good order whilst on the road. Pulling a boat load of Scoobs in convoy would be a traffic cops wet dream. Iddy will lead the convoy and will dictate the pace (yes it will be quicker than last year before anyone says it). Don’t overtake him as we’ll have snipers stationed at regular intervals if you step out of line.
And whatever you do, don't forget your £10 entrance fee......and your sunblock !
