Well yesterday in the blistering heat I ended up making a start on my daughters boyfriends black vauxhall vectra as the paint work is/was crap looks like someone has eather rattle canned it or used as roller with black mate paint. So I used 3 different grades if wet n dry 1000 to start then 1,500 and finished with 2000 I was after some 3000 grade the I hand polished it with some G3 cutting polish and tons of elbow grease. I managed to get the passenger side done for now just drivers side to do but looks like new now

Best thing to do mate is full colour sand and buff with a good cutting and polishing compound... Check mine out in the detailing section, the paint just needs a good moisturise so to speak

My clear coat had lots of surface scratches on doors off the missus with her bags and what have you. This is finish result with a good colour sand.

You'll notice in a month. Or so with the hot weather it will go back to the faded look mate but keep it up and don't burn the paint lol
