| Dear Sirs,
Many thanks for the complimentary scalpel that I received with my recently purchased kit. I can only assume this is for severing a suitable nearby artery to put me out of my misery, as it certainly won't be used for cutting the film which I can't get anywhere near to fitting my fking lights.
If you would kindly do me the pleasure of injuring yourselves severely, preferably in the arse region, with something point and rusty like an old fence post or perhaps a broken golf club I would be most grateful. I hate you, I hate you, I hate you.
Kind Regards Frustrated of Bishop Awkward.

| We have had the red ovelays for the hatch back lights for over a year now and none of us want to atempt it Someone needs to manufacture some red rear lights for the hatch to replace the chavy ones they have.and i would quite happily pay the money for them at whatever cost as a direct replacement rather than fiddle about with some bits of plastic film Lian | |

| Ive got to admit Lian it was a right chew on. I got the lenses that are actually in the Hatch door done in a jiffy, coz they are nice an flat and not to convex, but the rear lights themselves are a pig. Not only are they a wickedly curved surface but theyve got features on them and the film just wants to crease up around them. Do me a favour and tell me if you back lights are flat or featured ? Maxboost has done his car and he was pissing himself laughing last night as I was texting him full of hell. I swear he's set me up for a fall here | |

TBH they are a bit of a pain in the butt to do, but unlike vinyl, you get plenty of bites at the apple, so to speak. I found it easier to apply whilst the misses applied heat with a hair drier. As for the creasing around the contoured surfaces, I applied plenty of tension to the film whilst shaping it around the surface, leaving plenty of overhang then once bonded the said creasing stayed in the overhang, which is cut off. Wait until you tackle the indicators in the door mirrors, even they had me cursing, due to the concave profile. Cheers mate, I'll be having another crack at it tonight. I can appreciate that it might be easier to work with once its warmed up and I'll make sure I use plenty of material. I'm going to have to order another kit anyway as I ripped two big pieces last night and booted them over the fence As for the Mrs "helping", we'll have to see about that. Like I said to you last night I probably made the job harder by taking the lights out, as I had to juggle the units and the film, rather than leaving them in place and at least having them stay still. That said the two lights in the Hatch door look well, so I'm pleased with the overall effect, just need to crack the aplication on a more complex surface. But as Byers has said elsewhere, at least I'm trying to do it myself and not passing the job off.

| Much easier with the lights out as you have done bud. I clamped them in place on a work bench so I had both hands free. | |
