When I press my window switch or head light my oil pressure gauges drops then go back up ? Boost gauge fine thou


Is this and earth fault ?

Any one one the the main earth points are

Gear box
Fuse box
?

If when you use windows or lights. Then there is a massive draw of voltage/ current from battery. If alt or battery is week then when you use either it's dimming gauges as it can't supply enough voltage.

What the voltage a battery should be when engine running and how do you check an alternater ?

With engine running about 13.5 volts. With engine off 12.2 ish. If you have 13 with engine running alt is ok.

If it's only the oil pressure gauge that's affected it's probably an issue with the wiring/earth for that gauge. If there was a drop in the battery/charging voltage then everything would be affected.

A quick test with a multimeter will answer that for sure though.
