Just wondering if other people have had issues with paint chipping on matt black wheels. I bought a set of oz ultraleggeras in matt black a month ago. And already there's some sizeable chips on the wheels. Fair enough if they were curbed but the aren't there's 3 matching chips on one of the alloys 2 on the side to back of the spokes and one on the face of the wheel which stands out a fair bit. Just to see if anyone has had similar problems. It is really annoying considering they weren't cheap, they are a premium wheel and the durability of the paint is clearly not good at all. I've had a set off matt gunmetal works emotion wheels which had no chipping at all from 3 years of use. I'm going to contact oz because I didnt buy a new set of wheels only to have to pay for a refurb a month later.

I've got matt bronze sort of colour on my OZ wheels and they're fine. We're they brand new? If not, had they been refurbished? If they are new take them back

Yeah the wheels are brand new only had them a month today. Guess it seems matt isn't the best when it comes to paint quality. Kind of regret the choice now if I'm going to have to get a refurb done on them. Wish I got some enkei rpf1's brought over from the states would have worked out cheaper aswell. Think I will still give it a go and contact oz to ask the question. Got nothing to loose by doing so.

I would definitely complain. They should have a matt laquor over the top of them to stop them chipping

Do you's reckon it'll be best to go to speak to revolution and then they go to oz or I contact oz straight away. Hopefully there should be case for fault as it only one wheel thats chipping so maybe a paint issue with that one wheel. I'm going to give them a good check over to see if there's any more chips on the others.

Id phone OZ direct and ask to speak to a gaffer of somesort and explain you have bought the wheels with a matt black finish and 1 wheel is chipping. Take it from there and most probably you send the wheel back for a exchange.

Cheers I'll give that a go. Not quite sure how it would work as I think all of the wheels come direct from italy on order and nobody carries stock in the uk. So would be a hassle to get the tyre taken off and to send it to Italy. Then theres finding a wheel to put on mine when that happens. It really annoying having saved up the money to do it properly for some good performance premium wheels on an imaculate car then chips on the wheels standing out kind of ruins it a bit. I would have held my hands up if they were curbed but I know they are not and the fact there is matching chips on the rear/side of the spoke. Hopefully it'll get sorted fairly easily.

After having a closer look at the wheels yesterday it's not just the one wheel that has the issues with the chipping paint considering I've maybe only done 150miles since they were fitted it's not really good enough. Looking on the OZ website it says to go though the retailer, so I'll speak to revolution tomorrow hopefully that should make it easy as they have always been spot on with service. For a large manufacturer it's understandable that there is going to be the odd fault sometimes so for me it's how it is dealt with which is what's the most important.
