Been to look at this today... http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201503111634262/sort/atcustom/usedcars/quicksearch/true/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew/postcode/ne463jj/channel/cars/radius/30/make/subaru/price-from/500/page/2/model/impreza?logcode=p

It's been mapped to 358bhp by Andy Forrest but when I popped the bonnet it looked like the downpipe was standard STI with cat???

I asked if it had been put back on for an MOT and they didn't have a clue.

If the downpipe it was mapped with had been replaced back to standard would that mean the engine could go bang due to the wrong airflow??

Maybe they just put a standard heat shield on top of a race cat?? scratch

Is there any way of telling before I buy it??

They didn't have the Prodrive certificate so that's why I checked, I don't think it actually has the full package, just theProdrive backbox... Is there any other way to prove it has the PPP without the certificate?

Wasn't the blue prodrive pipe only fitted to the WRX tho?

Definitely won't be running 350+ with a cat in!
STi as standard has a non cat up-pipe, and a downpipe cat.
Probably find the previous owner has taken a few of the valuables off before trading it in....or keeping it legal by refitting the cat/standard exhaust!
Think it'll need a full 3" system for 350+ tho, that prodrive back box is 2.5" and I bet it's got the standard 2.5 centre section too!

If it's a PPP it should have a sticker on the inside of the drivers door pillar to say so...usually where tyre pressure sticker is Wink
However if it's been mapped by Andy Forrest it's no longer a PPP, as Andy said it would be worth checking with Andy Forrest.
Should run ok just won't get the power figues as indicated on the graph

Some info on Andy Forrest's website for power figue requirements
http://www.andyforrestperformance.co.uk/58932.html

Nice looking Widetrack blob tho....and very low Wink

Thanks for the help, much appreciated.

Having done a bit of research, Its definitely got the standard downpipe with cat, bit strange.

I'll ask for the registration and get in touch with Andy Forrest.

Thanks again
