| So I had a near new set of Godspeeds Kevlar pads and grooved discs.. Done own short track day at Teesside autodrome and went from bear new to 2mm in not long atall... I've decided I'm going to JGM shoot out and want to try a few ¼ mile sprints so obviously, I'd like to stop at the end haha So... do I go for kevlars pads again, or go for fast road-track pads? Completely torn between the two - I want ZERO squealing though as I use the car round town | |

| See Alyn @ AS Performance in Birtley Aaron - Performance Friction PF Z Rated pads are good for track but take a while to warm up on road driving, Ferodo DS3000 have good bite from cold. I have had Ferodo DS2500 on my Hawkeye and have them now on my my Type R - really rate them for fast road - but never tracked them. Think the DS3000 are more suited to a bit of track running as well. Not cheap though.
DS2500 are £120 a front set, PF-Z are £125 a front set - not sure how much DS3000 are from him |

| There's also mention of LC rc5+ GOD this is confusing man haha kevlars are only £75 for the fronts and the rc5+ £135...
So I THINK I'm between the RC5 & DS2500...bht I might not be in the morning haha
Anybody from here going to JGM?

| Yeah brake pads are a pain and a personal choice really - I think the only thing people agree on is that all EBC pads are shite! Alyn is a very good source of advice on the best pad for your pruposes, so give him a shout and see what he says. Doing the JackRabbit Rally this weekend Gateshead - Glencoe on Saturday and then back on the Sunday so the Friday is prep day. https://www.facebook.com/JackRabbitRally?fref=ts |

| RC5+ are very good pads both on road and track. Tried them in the first round of the sprints too and coped well, but they squeal like a bitch which I'm not bothered about, used to it now. | |

| I would imagine any high performance pads to squeak a little especially from cold. | |

| Went with the kevlars again, was just about to buy the EBC Blues based on Ian at Godspeed's recommendation... Then the wife decided she wanted to go to On holiday and swim with dolphins in three weeks, out the blue... So I'll buy them next time round haha

| Well that's what I thought when he mentioned them, he said the yellow, red & green were still horrid items but the new blue compound was one of his top sellers... But they're £169 for the fronts... | |

| Doesn't mean they're good because they sell, EBC sold loads of yellow stuff pads. And at £169 a set? PF Z's pads are only £110 or something. Give Alyn a shout at ASP. | |

| What an absolute nightmare!!!!
Old ones flew out... New ones were too wide - had to shave (sand) loads off before they'd fit! Nightmare!!!

| Kevlars again, I'll buy track pads if I go on the track again and save the kevlars for the road... I'm only doing ¼ sprints so won't need track pads this time round | |

| I have had DS2500 and 3000 before plus a few others Brembo Sport etc.
I was recommended Mintex 1166 endurance pads for all round use very happy so far and reasonably priced
Done few thousand miles with them
