Just sat thinking and I was wondering if I manage to get the time and knowhow, what size engine and running gear will my P reg polo take? I know that a nissan micra can take a SR20DET oit of a pulsar as its been to Santa Pod. Just to shock unsuspecting drivers thats all. 1.8 golf turbo maybe?

It'll take the 1.8 20vt reasonably comfortably. There are also a few polos with vr6's in them, but that requires a lot of work and makes them stupidly understeery, apparently.

There's a guy on the VAG forum I frequent that has put 2 6cylinder engines in a Lupo Shocked

Something straight forward with around 180hp will be ideal just to take the p1ss out of other cars lol.
Dont mind welding anything as im a welder by trade amyhow. I know it will require abit of work with gearbox mounts and engine mounts.

I bet that lupo is crazy. Will be loud aswel

I think you can use corrado/mk3 golf mounts and maybe the 100mm driveshafts from a mk2 golf gti. Seat Ibiza clutch mechanism (unless yours has a hydraulic clutch, but don't think it has), with a 1.3 mk2 golf cable

There's a guy at croft who'll do the loom conversion and immob defeat for around £200 as well so that will be plug and play

Try clubgti, there should be plenty info on there if you want to do it yourself, or the guy I share a unit with does vw engine conversions every day, I'm sure he could do it or help you out if you wanted/needed

No problem.

You should be able to pick up a 1.8t golf or a3 for next to nowt, which will have most of the bits you need. Try and get one with a k03s turbo (or k04 is even better). The earliest of these engines have an AGU code, they have the worst turbo but strongest internals and large port heads
