i dont think it would remove the sensor but it would need mapped after fitting a full de-cat. you'll probably end up with over boosting problems and maybe fuel cut ect if you change. a boffin will be along to prove me correct or incorrect soon

Depends Hardy. People have run full decats with no boosting issues at all. If they ever did become an issue, you could just fit a manual boost controller to save the expense of a remap although obviously the remap would make the most of the mod and ensure everything else was running safe too. You can get a small spacer that sits the 2nd lambda further out of the system to avoid the CEL beacon coming on. Drew does them for only a few quid.
Anyways..... The 2nd lambda just basically tells if the cat is still working efficiently or not. It'll either be that the cat is cream crackered or the sensor is imo.

As mentioned earlier, try a fuel treatment / injector cleaner in case it's just contamination on the sensor. You will need to clear the code first. If the light cones back in then it would suggest there is an issue with the cat. Usually when it get worse it will throw up 0420 for cat below efficiency.
Obviously it will be cheaper to Decat it than replace the cat but it may lead to other issues, all of which can be sorted!

hey thanks for the reply chris.on the psi3 it shows current fault codes as zero. and historic as 1 which is the 1 i have already mentioned. to reset is it reset ecu command? that is the only function i can see? cheers.

As long as its no longer a current fault code then you will be ok, if it shows up again once you have ran the cleaner through it (give it a couple of hundred miles to do its thing) then you know its a genuine fault with the cat, not just a faulty sensor reading.
