| Hi, just got myself a '04 WRX, de-CAT with a Powerflow system, been told it's running around 270 bhp ! Had an Audi Allroad for last 5 years so the WRX is a welcome adrenaline rush without having to buy another 1000cc road bike to get my kicks.... and safer on 4 wheels these days ! If anyone can shed some light on a problem I'm having with the WRX, the engine management light keeps coming on, seemingly telling me the CAT is not operating properley ??(even though it doesn't have one) Does anyone know how I can sort this problem or do I just use the black insulating tape trick over the warning light Hope to meet some of you guys for a crack at one of these meets, good forum btw, pleased I've found it !

| Welcome to the forum Jonny, and thats a great name you have That is a common problem when de-catting, there are 2 ways to resolve the problem, you can get a lambda sensor lifter, what it does is raise the sensor out of the gas flow slightly, this stops the sensor over reading. Drew on here supplies these for around a fiver. The other solution is to have the flag removed from the ECU when getting it re-mapped and will cost a fare bit more, you will smile more too though! | |

| Thanks for the welcome fellas, thanks for the Lambda sensor lifter idea Jonny, will get one from Drew when I find him ! It was the previous owner who de-Cat'd the car and had it re-mapped, shame they didn't remove the flag then ! | |

| Jonny I have no idea who re-mapped the car unfortunately, must be in our region as it's a local car and the previous owner lived around Ouston or Chester le Street area ! Could do with getting in touch with him !! Thanks lian&johnwrx for the welcome ! | |

| If it was mapped locally it will most likely have been done by Duncan (Racedynamix), If it was I am sure he would look at it for you for a small fee.
He is also on here so it may be worth dropping him a PM to see if he has your registration on file. | |

| Think car belonged to someone I know from work Jonny - and it hasn't been mapped. |

| Looks like it's going to be re-mapped then, don't have any documentation to say it has been done so the sooner I get it to Duncan@Racedynamix the better Thanks for your help lads, great bunch in here, good forum | |
