Boost Solenoid Empty
PostSubject: Boost Solenoid   Boost Solenoid EmptySun 7 Aug - 17:48

Hi guys im having problems with the boost solenoid, somedays i can get full boost no probs go back out later and get what feels like fuel cut at around 3500/4000 rpm and check engine light comes. it throws up code 45, ive changed the solenoid with a spare i had still the problem remains, ive also cleaned the solenoid still no better, also each time resetting the ecu. The solenoid clicks when you start to open the throttle which i believe is normal so well confused now.

Cheers Andy

code 45 is map sensor bud, manifold absolute pressure
next to the solenoid, has small aprox 4 inch long piece of vacum tubing going to it

You haven't changed the hose that comes out of the bottom of the solenoid to the resinator box have you?

This pipe has a restrictor pill in it, if you remove it you will get this problem, it can also get blocked so give that pipe a clean out with some brake cleaner too.

Cheers lads, ive had a look on a couple of sites 2 say solenoid and 2 said map so went back out and changed that aswell the bottom pipe has the restrictor in it but havent yet cleaned it.
After changing it i resett the ecu again took it for a blast the light had'nt come on but checked for any codes when i got back and 45 was still there.

Well after 2 weeks the em light has not returned, it was the thingy that sits on top of the boost solenoid bracket, the pipe from the map sensor goes to it. It was blocked.

Cheers Andy
