right guys did a oil and water change on sat filler the header tank up water went down then filled it up again and it stayed full started the car kept filling and pressing hoses to get air out after about an hour of doing this the heaters went hot and water stayed full drove car and heaters went cold after about 5 mins and overheated so did same process and the heaters dont seem to be heating up and temp gauge keeps going up any advice on how to get back to normal

SOUNDS LIKE YOU STILL GOT AIR LOCK ..DID YOU PUT COOLANT IN ASWELL ?
MINE HAD NO AIR LOCKS BUT THE HEATER WAS STILL COLD TILL I PUT THE COOLANT IN...

yeah i mixed some with water u think itd be better putting it just straight in mate im doing it on a little bit of a bank aswell id imagine flat ground better????

Dean, Filling the system from the turbo back over works for me every time no air locks just takes a while. You could drain the system & try it.

how do you do that from the turbo mate ?

forgot to ask mate im after a carbon bonnet and boot mate are you still doing this?

Take the pipe off the top of the header tank that goes to the turbo, stick a funnel in the hose & fill. Slowly. Wink
To much shite going on at the min to take on any big jobs like bonnets bud, sorry.

I've just done mine the other wk, I always fill the header with warm water/coolant, and squeze bottom hose, once I can't get any more in I start the car, heaters on hot and blowers on max, keep topping up and squezin bottom hose, works every time for me Wink

done guys left it overnite on a bank and the air must have pulled itself through put some orange coolant in higher temp so thanks for all your help guys Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

a TALL funnel in the header tank and remove the small pipe that goes back too the header tank off, fill it slowly and i always blow on the header tank untill the water starts too flow from the pipe you have just removed, once its a constant flow replace the pipe

no probs bud i wasnt talking about any time now as i read your post about your engine sorry to hear your not having much luck mate but in the near future maybe? ive said all along about dougy and everyone slatted me for it that guy is absolute garbage if you ever catch up to him after what hes done id love to slap him aswell his work is trash mate i feel for ya.. if your wantin an engine rebuild eclipse performance are way better than any round here mate there great guys i go a few times a week help out etc and there really friendlyngive them a shout bud Very Happy Very Happy
