Second cheaper to run car is the better way to go (IMO) if you can as then you're not loosing what you have spent on the car & have the 'enjoyment' there when you want/need it

Go & buy yourself an old shopping cart, cost nowt on fuel & cheap to insure. Buy one with a few months tax & just run into the ground & ebay it before tax runs out.
Years ago I used to run a 4.5 Twin Turbo V8 that at very best did 15mpg, bought an old Fiat Uno for running the 80mile round trip to work & took the Rover out on a Friday to get back at all the sods that ate me up all week.
Keep the Scooby!
