Subject: snapped topmount bolt Wed 14 Dec - 18:52
hi i have snapped a passanger side top mount bolt there is still two bolts on will this be safe to drive.its the cusco coilovers and it is hard to find any top mounts so would it be poss to just drill out the old bolt and put refit a new one in anyway any help would be greatfull thanks guys.

From memory it's a stud from top mount. So drilling it isn't a option. Simply get a new top mount.

Somone snapped a bolt on one of my top mounts and it ended up causing me no end of grief in the end, ask Mr Kindon. I think you looking at a new mount mate, dont compromise.

I think that was willy kgt typical eve driver sabotage I say he was gutted but he was trying to help fit that sti top mount

have been trying to find one the only one i can find is on ebay and its the offside think thats the driverside as it goes my one is snapped off the passangerside would it be safe to drive it the way it is.

I didny think they were sides but just front and back
I'd say sensibly driven should be ok but that's just my opinion and driving it's at your own risk

thanks andy i typed cusco topmounts in to ebay and only one came up not sure if it would fit the passangerside if you have a few mins spare take a look and see what you think i know f,,k all about these jap money boxes lol

had a chat to finn just hope its ok to drive till after xmas will try and find one if i can but there so hard to find.might just have to change the lot after xmas.

I'm sure the front ns of will be interchangeable if it was my car I'd drive it

thanks mate will keep an eye out found some on the net they are £170+pap for the two front just need to find out if the front plates are interchangeable hope some one on here will know thanks for your help andy.i will drive it but not as harsh as i would.

takes the piss not sure on what to do the driverside plate on ebay is 99p £4pap if they do fit both sides i will get the one off ebay.the bottom line is i will try and get some coilovers off here some one should have some or might just go back standard as the ride is really hard.£170 what a shocker

I'd just drill it out and restud it with a new stud, shudn't be a bad job

Think I've had to drill a few out on other cars never had a problem wiv them afterwards!! New top mount wud b the best option tho but if ya can't find 1 drill it out and replace it lol
