| Is it possible to use any version sti bottom end/ block and mate them to the relevant year heads ? What i mean is if i was to replace my 05 blob wrx block with an sti one would it have to be same year or can i use an older model ? cheers keith | |

| As gav says all the heads fit on all the engines, the older enines have a different crank tho and apparantly are not as good. I have fitted my 2003 blob eye WRX heads to a 2.5 2007 STi Bottom end | |

| i managed to get a cracking deal through andrew carr £900 from a 27k car Head Gaskets £90 Inlet Gaskets £14 Oil £47 Filter £4.50 3 Bond £12 Coolant £6.50 Clutch £170 Not to bad as we just did it our selves | |

down too cost as per the norm lol the v7-8 sti is well known for having the strongest " standard " internals.. but the early 93 blocks were the strongest ie= fully closed deck block. obvously aftermarket forged internals is the way forward for over 500bhp but it gets very very expensive... | |

| cdb - strongest block V5/6 sti - strongest standard pistons 08 onward - strongest standard rods V8 sti onward - best standard cranks Pretty sure thats right iirc |
