key not working then it did

Very strange things happen last I pulled up outside my mates house has babe was in bed so I turn me car engine off he got in and I tried to start it back up the red immobiliser light came on I pushed the key button as normal and didn’t work so stared pushing it took it out tried locking car up northing I was thinking the battery ran out but another a couple of min it worked and been work all day
