Finally grew some and detango'd the blob today. Missus is away for the day so I booked the entire day to get it done. Only took a few hours in the end..
Grille off, bumper loosened off, air intake off... lights out.
Bit nervous at this point
The offending items..

Cheap as chips and makes a hell of a difference..

after de-tangoing the lights is it easy to seal them back up?

It is mate yes, I removed the orange bits then pushed them back together.. Then back into the oven for another 10-15 mins to soften up the sealant and push them together again then re-fit screws..
