I got stopped in my car with my private plate on - letters and plate were full size but spacing slightly off .. they took a photo of the car, gave me a ticket to go to an MOT station and prove I had put the correct plates on (relieving me of £10 for the process), reported it to DVLA and I got a letter through saying if I was caught again with my plates wrong, they would confiscate my private plate. Could have understood it if it was illegible but it wasn't - but the reason they come down on it is the ANPR camera can't read them if changed from normal appearance and they don't like having to manually do the work watching! Zillions of worse plates on the cars around here |

| I don't want anything fancy just don't want the front one too big so it sticks too far over bottom grill. Also just want normal spacing and letters | |

| lol, i meant in relation to plate and character size. yes, if the car is not an import, you require the full size plate to stay legal. i fit this to mine and as yet have had no trouble. i didnt want to get a smaller plate than this as atleast this one can be read by ANPR cameras so only run the risk of getting done by getting pulled and not being able to blag that its an import. |

So what size is it then Overall plate size depends on the characters on the plate. '1's are narrower etc. it goes off the margin around the characters. |

So which one do I pick of the craigsplates website to get the same as yours then and do you just pick normal size plate for the back. When I looked they gave loads of different import plates so which one. | |
