Have you had it remapped?

If not then that is the place to start.

If you have a standard exhaust change that for a free flowing one like the Prodrive system and fit a walbro fuel pump, after that you should see around 330hp with a remap.

All you need is a td05 18g for 360-380 or a 20g for 380-400 and a remap by a good mapper.

It's your choice if you want to go front mounted intercooler, if you do it will make more power but not necessarily be faster on the road due to lag between changes.

Think Locky is selling his td05 20g on here at the moment.

Anymore info than the above?

What exhaust?

What headers? Are they ported?

What fuel pump?

What size injectors?

Who mapped the car?

The more info the better bud, this way you can get the best advise from the likes of Jonny.

Agree. I would also change the headers for a set of Finns ported ones. Good reports on these with good gains. If poss also change the up-pipe.

Info below on the SC range.

Not sure how long your internals would cope for though aswell as your gear box.

When you say "more power", are you just wanting to hit a number or take the car to its drivable best ??

Is it a 1/4 mile monster you are after or a well performing everyday car ???

I think I'm right in saying the 750 injectors youve got usually appear on cars running at 500bhp+........was this a considered purchase or did they come as part of a package ?

Do you know what its running at now, and how its running so you know where you are starting from ?

Mines running over 400bhp on a standard sti top mount, but I cannot confirm this as the intercooler suffered from heat soak on the rolling road day and only produced 365bhp, I'm having a fmic fitted this week which should sort that and also let me run possibly upto 1.8 bar of boost, I'd say go with the md range of turbo's similar to mine

That is the bast bit of advice all day, the SC turbos are ok but the MD a loads better, in my opinion 400 is the absolute maximum you want to be taking the standard internals, what SC turbo were you thinking of?

I thought 400 was pushing the limits hense the forging of my cdb engine rather than fitting sti block from a newage. Also isnt 400 pushing limits of the gearbox or are they allready 6 speed ? Bit clueless on newage but learnt alot about classics on here from the techy lads so take there advise when possible. Not always a cheap option but safe option and get good results

ive sort of adopted the attitude with mine "if it lets go, it lets go" i was assured by a recomended mapper who mapped my car, that my bottom end would cope with around 430bhp, so if 400bhp is the max, im exciding it so i must be on borrowed time lol!

ive heard that some people down south are running closer to 500bhp on standard internals, but its also luck of the draw with the rods, i bought a spare sti bottom end which was an acclaimed runner lol! fook knows how as it had snapped a rod and demolished the crank and block! bit of an eye opener which its possible mine could do but like i said if it happens it happens

my gearbox has no issues with the power im running, although i dont think an uprated clutch would go a miss, but there bigger bhp cars running with the standard 6 speed, sure andy grady is???? sure ak will confirm that

i weasnt sure which the sti has 5 or 6 speed. im lead to beleive newage bottom ends are strong but its still a prize draw lol your right thou if it gonna go itl go lmao
