Its very thirsty not much better than the scooby not as fast either but it does go well. The most common fault on them seems to be warm/hot starts after switching off they dont like to start again for a few mins till they have cooled a little. I've looked into this and it seems to be the starter motor fitted from standard is lazy and they are being changed for a faster spinning job which cures the problem.

Mine is a 54 plate 6 speed 231 brake with black and red leather interior sitting 19 inch dished alloys front and rear. They come with a Bose 6 disc sound system which is pretty good. Suspension could do with been stiffened a little. Otherwise spot on i like it Very Happy

Was lucky to find this one with only 49 thou on the clock looks like it has been well looked after as is immaculate inside and out.

Andy

Sorry to spoil ya fun lads but I know 3 people who hav had these from 04 -06 plate and all 3 engines went bang !! 5k for new engine, Mazda still don't know what the fault is, think it starts with engine managment light coming on . Great cars when working though. Hopefully yours will be ok .

I've had one for a year now just putting it up for sale tho cos weve just bought a golf tdi nd the year ive had it its used a tiny bit oil nothing extreme , always check it tho just incase cos I've heard some nightmares with them ,one of our customers had the engine go on him just off not checking his oil , mines only got 40000 on nd for the money ya can get them for now there's a lot of car for the money , the modified starter does work aswell me mate fitted one last year he's never had no probs , mine flooded once when we 1st got it , that was off starting it up then turning it straight off - its easy to get them started again once you've done it tho
