Update time, finally geting somewhere, Very Happy
Got a hold of some two bolt GT spec headers of Drew which he used to run on the wagon, along with a H&S
slip jointed up pipe, & covered them in Titanium wrap. Changed to a newage PAS set up, and purchased some
lightweight weight pulleys, & with a bit spit & polish long engine is finished

I kept on with the Carbon inner wing & managed to get the inner section finished. Its hard
work wet layering since i got rid of my vacum gear but turned out canny.

Started on the side moulding for the airbox.

Once finished i need to do the top part, but will update that at a later date.
Also got a indoor car cover as the car was getting manky in the garage.
And picked up these electric mirrors, & thinking of stripping them & covering them in
carbon to go with the other bits (bonnet, boot, splitter ect) on the exterior.

Getting there, slowly but surely.

Finally got round to refreshing the 20g.
After 30mins had a pile of bits.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I was pretty straigh forward & glad i did it myself. The turbo made good power but always fell a bit short of the 400/400 mark, & always screamed like a pig, litterally. Whilst stripping it down i realised the circlip that holds the rear thrust plate in place was missing, Question the thrust cover thing was cracked & the heat sheild cover had been rubbing on the back of the exhaust wheel & had worn a hole in the heat sheild,
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
maybe these being in contact was the squelling piggy noise scratch non the less, its all back together & cleaned new water pipes, braided oil feed (thanks Mr Drew) & Turbo jacket fitted.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Then deceide to test fit the engine so i could measure up for the fuel line & make sure the Newage PAS line & pump etc fitted.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Once bolted in place realised i forgot to fit the PAS lines at the rack end, then spent hours trying to put them in blind, to no avail. lol! It would appear the lines are hitting the up pipe, & the samco inlet pipe, will have investigate further once the motor is back out, may have to use me calibrated vice & hammer to manipulate the pipes, or get some bespoke ones made up.

I did get the carbon heat sheild/air box finished off, but once i test fitted the HKS FMIC pipe MAF realised there wasn't gonna be much left of it once i trimmed off what was needed.

So rather than letting it gather dust in the loft gonna see how it would work on Drews rotated setup. Wink

Thats all getting there bit at a time.

Little update,

I started on the underside of the car & TBH is a nightmare, for a car thats only been on the UK roads for 3 years, the nuts & bolts were tighter than one of Mr Saviles weekend play things.
pulled the front cradle off

Whilst the front subframe was off PRO15 all the corroded metal work, for the £ this stuff is the dogs, apply with a bush, no brush strokes.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Decided to go for silver , black & red underside,
subframe blasted & painted.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Referbed rack & new poly bushes fitted.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
I wanted to poly nush the front end & after a bit research ordered Strongflex bushes. Cheers Drew for the use of the press, ehich even @ 9ton wouldn't budge the old wishbone bushes, Shocked
So after several hours with the blutest air saw in history Laughing the bushes were fitted & the bits all put back together.
