Obviously the first in line is the md321v but are there any similar turbos to this that make the same or more power on a standard fitment?

yeah, 400bhp was the milestone and is now been cracked, had a nightmare the last few days thinking what can i do next? but there's no next stage left for me on standard internals as ill just kill it, was even debating advertising it for sale!!!!!! then locky steered me in the right direction and i thought fook it! why not!, the car will be 500+bhp in the near future!!!!!

Yup it would cost a fortune to get everything right on that block, I would just sell yours off and buy one already at the power level you want as it willbe much cheaper. Costs soon spiral as even a 500bhp build will still cost alot more than you think.

I can't knock turbos I haven't had but asking People who have and tried and tested helps.......there is so much out there about each 1 the first of all gives you that figure you want, then the graphs to prove and big write ups, but who do you listen too? For me I need to beleive in my tunner......after asking about a turbo ect I go away and back that info up! Then you ask the likes of Andy Forrest and bob rawle who do nothing but map the said turbos..........I think there is the right turbo for the right build spec, as I've learnt the mdx321t at 430bhp 471lbs has exposed the scoobyclinics sc450 package......had I put a sc46 on would I be needing a rebuild??? Who knows!!! But am happy on my turbo choice ;0)

but that turbo never made 500hp, if it was me I would go md321v with a billet wheel.

a 321v on a 2.1 is going to be laggy, you would be better off building a 2.3 or 2.5 motor

but as stevebt says there's alot to do to get a reliable 500 motor.

no but I have driven caryn190 a few times, It use to spool about 3000rpm and be on full boost by 3500.

I would also recommend a FP red that's what I had on the hawk, but you can't buy them anymore so that's abit pointless.

it gets 1 bar of boost by 3200rpm and full boost 2 bar by 3700rpm Very Happy but keeps pulling all the way to the red line. it is a great turbo for the road but only on a 2.3 or 2.5 wouldnt put it on a 2.0 or 2.1 as it would be at least 500rpm later on spool possibly more.

thinking of keeping it and getting a billet wheel fitted for the new one. to see if I can get anymore power out of it.

500bhp on anything less than a 2.3 is going to be a little bit laggy for my liking on pump fuel, although it will still make the power no doubt but the midrange wont be anything like what the same turbo would be on a larger cc engine(theres no subsistute for displacement), if your heads set on a 2.1 stroker then something like a 321t 450bhp would make a quicker road car than the same build running a 321v
