i fitted a manual boost controller the other day working from the boost controller itself advicing to have the exit pipe face towards the waste gate which i did but the pipe doesnt go back into the turbo as the do on other cars i have seen it instead goes to a sensor and then to the wastegate??

I tried it and shit my pants when driving and got a wiff of something burning, not sure if it was outside or not but pulled straight over the put it back to normal, anyone no how i should be fitting this just dont wanna ruin my car ??

cheers

lee

Sure when i fitted a Dawes controller years ago, the controller was fitted between the bleed nipple on the turbo side to the actuator, the OEM boost solinoid was blanked off as it wasn't used.
But TBH, you can get a HDI electronic one for around £100, which would be my choice.

Mark is 100% correct, the valve should be fitted between the actuator and outlet on the turbo, that said I wouldn't advise fitting it unless you know exactly what you are doing as it could end in tears quite easily.

Have you got that boost gauge fitted yet, if so i am sure Finn/drew/Andy k will set it up for you.

What model/year is your car?
