Aw Clarky - i'm so glad your dog was ok - even though she has a broken toe . We had a Weimaraner (Storm) and she was just a pup, had a lump on her ear and we thought the worst too .. turned out it was cancer but they just excised the tumour and a margin around it and she was perfectly fine - but it was so worrying. Personally I prefer dogs to alot of people (probably said it before!) but they are always there for you, full of love and trust for you, always have a greeting for you, never stab you in the back and would protect you risking their own lives .. I hated the house when I lost my 16yr old collie .. it was awful but I did swear never again that i'd put myself through it ... but I did and I will probably keep saying that and doing it all over again! The rewards they bring are far more than the pain. I think humans have alot to learn from animals and their behaviour. Baldy .. He'll be waiting for you at Rainbow Bridge (I'll post it below for you in case you've never read it) .. alot of people don't believe in spiritual 'mumbo jumbo as they call it' but I have seen spiritualists who have described my childhood dog and gave his name and told me he was sitting at my feet .. they could NEVER have known about him as I was only about 12 when he died, so he's always there .. you just can't see him. When my friends little boy was a toddler (who is and always has been dog mad), he asked me 'Did you used to have a dog called Sandy' and that totally freaked me out .. nobody had been talking about him and he could never have known .. and he never did tell me how he knew .. so he'll be waiting for you when it's time for you to meet again. x The Rainbow Bridge inspired by a Norse legend
By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill, Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still. Where the friends of man and woman do run, When their time on earth is over and done.
For here, between this world and the next, Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest. On this golden land, they wait and they play, Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.
No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness, For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness. Their limbs are restored, their health renewed, Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.
They romp through the grass, without even a care, Until one day they start, and sniff at the air. All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back, Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.
For just at that instant, their eyes have met; Together again, both person and pet. So they run to each other, these friends from long past, The time of their parting is over at last.
The sadness they felt while they were apart, Has turned into joy once more in each heart. They embrace with a love that will last forever, And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together. |
