PostSubject: Sodding Potholes   Sodding Potholes EmptyWed 9 Jan - 23:11

Those on fb will know my car was damaged by a pothole recently .. thought it wasn't more than the tyre and alloy but when I went to get the tracking redone yesterday I found out theres more damage Sad

The suspension arm is bent so need a new one, the hub that fits into that also .. along with the tyre and alloy that needs refurbing :-(

So i'm waiting for my claim form from the council ...

But did you know theres a website (thanks shutchy for telling me) where you can specify the potholes you report and see if the one that damaged your car has already been reported by someone .. obviously the more people the better who use it.

Anyway the website is www.potholes.co.uk it also has tips on claiming your money back off the councils ... we pay enough tax for them to fix the roads .... so I think they should be doing it!

That's bad news Nic I hope they don't mess you about for long.
A great heads up on the website too thanks to S.Hutchy and yourself for bringing it to my attention. There's a good few potholes on my daily drive to work and back so I will be checking out this site as soon as I hit the send/post button Smile

Did you get photos of the pothole and the surroundings at the time of the incident?

The exact thing happened to me with my first Classic. When I claimed I got fook all back off the council.

there is about 5 roads closed in northumberland now due to landslides....councils approach to fixing them is...."just keep them closed we dont have the money to fix them!!!" good luck getting your money back!!!

pm me a price pls ellio .. ty

There are guidelines on there how to go about claiming .. I'm gonna try thru them if no joy then the small claims court as 9 times out of 10 they dont bother turning up to contest Wink

It really pee's you off though .. they should mend them and properly not just patching it so it lifts out the next frost we get .. had that been someone on a bike they'd have been off and possibly killed on that road.

yvw Scott for the hoody Smile
