Subject: Had a laugh today Tue 9 Apr - 21:00
My car is in the garage getting the timing belt and water pump done. Our lass dropped the car off. Getting it done for £140. Our lass decided to phone John Pye up for a quote on the afore mentioned. Same pump and belt £288. Is he mad?

He charged me £340 for a clutch on my old scooby sport. I phoned him to ask when i can pick car up. He replied with " the car is ready but iv had to replace a cam seal so it will be £360 altogether" wtf would i of done if i didnt have the £20? To top it all i asked for a receipt for the work and he said you dont get 1 coz you paid cash!!!!

He sounds like a bellend. I'm sure HMRC would have been interested in the lack of receipt situation....if you like being awkward

I'll have to see if I can dig out my receipt for my £296 service. Not sure what was on it, but car only had about 20k on the clock so it cant have been much. I do remember the parting line of "these cars are expensive to run you know son"..............which is a correct statement if you dont belong to a forum like this who will guide you away from eye gougers.

Hes a reet tosser. I wouldnt let him service a wheelbarrow.ive only evrr usedvhim for parts. Whem i was building the mk2escort i went and saw him as he was the only person who had yhe boys and i was desperate. .Amy conversatiom ensude. Expensive to restore these,we could help you out. .I said i had a guy in darlo doing it. .Wen i told him who it was. He made some feeble excuse about being to busy to talk about old scrappers and fpoled off back in his workshop. ..
But yes hes like 1or 2 other people i would never use again for fixing motors as theyre butchers and rapists
