PostSubject: Sick as hell   Sick as hell EmptyThu 5 Sep - 10:30

Well woke up this morning feeling totally sick and fed up as I need to try and find the cash to get my beloved scooby back on the road and as I don't have a job at the minute I'm in limbo and I hate driving the focus I need my scooby fix I was hoping to get it remapped as well so that's out the flipping window now as I need just under 2k for a engine rebuild

Sorry to hear about you very unfortunate position Andy its not easy when your car goes tits up and your out of a stedy income Sad
personally if i was in your current position I would go for a replacement engine bud you can pick up a good wrx engine for under £500
You could also fit an STi engine but they ain't cheap and you would also need to change a few other things but not sure exactly what would need to be changed..

An Engine rebuild would probably be the most expensive option but at least you would know everything is going to be spot on its just finding the funds to do it Sad

Yeah that's it natski the engine in now as all the Sti bits on like vf35 turbo and Sti intercooler and water spray Sti injectors so I could fit them to eather engine but I'd gave new spark plugs fitted and millers oil and filter done before it went in car I'm also thinking of changing clutch think its got a pink box clutch in as it judders like a bitch when pulling away until it gets warm so probs be after a standard clutch and well while engine is out I hope there's gonna be some helpers in removing and refitting engine I'm not a machanic lol

Ahh cool think Byers wants £1200 for the STi lump bud so it would be cheaper than a rebuild and a lot stronger too. The newage 2.0 STi engines are the strongest factory engines Subaru produced so they ain't cheap but they are well worth it if your car is modified like yours is..

Sti engines no good unless ya going to fit your heads cos the Sti has avcs heads and the wrx hasn't, other option is just ignore the variable stuff

Is it not worth selling all the bits off your engine? I.e. turbo, intercooler etc? Unsure what they worth but if you have a car to potter about in, in the meantime it maybe worth adding a few quid to it. Thats if you can tho bud as i know peoples circumstances are different. Gutted for you mate and its 1 reason why i didnt really take to a scooby but just thought any engine can go.

Ahh yea I forgot about the variable valve heads, like drew said you could fit your heads to an STi block then sell the heads seperate.
But being realistic in your currant financial position Andy the best option would be to just to stick another wrx engine in it.
