You don't have to send off logs all time to find a mapped motor, it can be pulled up when digging into the ecu memory easy enough on dealers comps.

Whats the plasn then for the build ?

Nearly the same spec as Hardy is getting and the same that was in my Hawkeye.

pinned 2.5 block or closed deck (haven't decided yet)
wossner pistons
carrillo rods
new style 2.5 heat treated sti crank
14mm head studs
uprated oil pump

Then possibly (as the heads need stripping):-
Ported Heads
Cosworth 274 cams

It should be strong enough with that lot then get it mapped again on the standard vf48 but with my GT Spec Headers and Trick Uppipe.

not sure yet, but the engine will be strong enough to run my FP Red. But I would need a front mount to put that on.

The high silicon pistons used in the standard 2.5 are great for running tight tolerance on low emission engines, they are very poor when given too much heat though as the material is brittle so snaps the ring land when they expand and tighten in the bore.

I don't think so it looks to be ok. I am going to get Jonny to check it out and do one of his conversions.

The car is getting picked up from Subaru early next week then off to Dr Kindon for him to do his magic then hopefully mapped on the 16th January with Bob. Fingers Crossed

Decided to go the whole hog on the engine fully forged with some extra bits. will be interesting to see what it can do.

I cant wait to get back on the road.
