Getting parts for 400hp ;) Empty
PostSubject: Getting parts for 400hp ;)   Getting parts for 400hp ;) EmptySun 24 Nov - 19:42

Well I've finally decided to get parts that I need for the big 400 ha!
My current 347 just isn't enough anymore lol!

Planning to get all the parts for this over the next 3 to 4 months, I know roughly what I need but any advice would be greatly apreacited Cool

Parts required.
20g turbo, hopefully a jmg one please jonny Cool Wink
3port boost solenoid
Ported headers, haven't decided to port mine or get new yet?
Will I need a new up-pipe?
Injectors - not sure which ones? Have original pinks!
Clutch - still on the original......some how, but 400 will kill it!
Remap (obviously) need to decide between Andy again or try bob Rawle?
Will my 255 fuel pump be ok?
Do I need anything else?

I need to do the clutch first and could do with some recommendations for this, Exedy pink organic anti judder is what I'm thinking, can anyone recommend this one or had any issues with it?
Anyone got a ramp where I could get this fitted and help do it?

Cheers lads

Andy Kindon will sort you with a Exedy Racing clutch if you want to upgrade, but the Blue Boxes (OE) will be OK, ran mine for about 6 months, then I found the launch control, it's nearly dead now Laughing

Injectors - Hawkeye Blue injectors will be good for 400, or if you plan on going further in the future, go for 750 - 850cc ones, I went a bit OTT with 1000cc but they still mapped OK.
255 pump will be fine, as will your up pipe, only change if you want to. Don't NEED ported headers, but I'd say that they would be a good upgrade especially for improved torque.

And yes a TD05-20G Billet. You'll struggle to hit 400 on a cast 20G compressor.

My standard 6 speed clutch dealt with 500lb/ft torque for 9 months then went bang on the rolling road. I am starting to hate rolling roads Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

Alyn bought the rights to sell the Harvey Up Pipe from the late Harvey Smith's wife. Alyn owns AS Performance in Birtley. I bought all of my DEFI gauges from him, as well as I always get my Millers oil from him. Sound bloke.

Alyn at AS Performance is sound agreed

I have the exedy pink clutch fitted in mine and now that it has bedded in its a great clutch and it's made to handle 400bhp ( that I don't have ) unlike the blue ones. They are a bit more expensive but will last longer than the blue one and a clutch change in an Impreza is a big job so its worth spending the extra ££'s

20g turbos are cheap for a reason if you can afford to get an MD321h instead, I wish I had bought one instead of a 20g to be honest Sad

Yer me to what's wrong with jmg 20g ?

Iv had vf43 and td05 16g and there nothing compared to jmg 20g my car was mapped on 20g billet and the mapper could believe how much pull it had and how quick it spooled up and wanted jmg to supply him with some

I know some people say 20g on 2.0 laggy but that's why you pay more and get a billet wheel put in problem solved as was told when I got mine :-)

The MD321h is capable of 400bhp ish @ 1.45 bar (pretty much the same as the JMG-TD0520G) so why would you pay 3 times the amount for a MD321h?
