Thinking about fitting 2.5 Empty
PostSubject: Thinking about fitting 2.5   Thinking about fitting 2.5 EmptyFri 25 Apr - 15:36

Been looking and found 2.5 forged engine of scooby spares only done 4000 miles been told my manifold will need to be fitted others than that straight swap but I'm not 100% as seen loads of 2.5 go pop on hear so are they safe to run over 400bhp

Or is the 2.0 stronger and more safer thanks

if its got forged pistons then they will run 450hp with no problem. if your going higher than that then I would recommend pinning or close decking the block as the bores can move under high boost as they are thinner than the 2.0 blocks, which then causes the head gaskets to fail.

The big advantage with a 2.5 is the extra torque and driveability you get over a 2.0

1998  scratch so it's only a 2 litre then not a 2.5 like you said above, I presume that this text is copied from the person selling the engine

Oh I see I thought you meant 1998 as in cc for engine size not the year

How can it be a v4 engine?? it must be a 2.5 block in a v4 motor

Your spending is nuts Gary, you already have 10k in that car and spending another 3-4k will be bonkers imo
