PostSubject: Dazza's little boot project......   Dazza's little boot project...... EmptySat 26 Jul - 18:48

Hello everyone, decided to try a boot install, first time I've done owt like this, so nowt special, just decided to jazz it up abit !!!!!!!

Anyway, first ov all I got a sub/box/amp and all the cables needed for £15 off a lad at work, absolute bargain, but not in best condition.

The sub when I got it, scratched and covered in paint..

So first, re-furb time, chrome paint....

Then the red bits....

Bit ov Back to black and brand new...

Then the Amp was in a sorry state....

Again, abit of paint and couple of stickers....

Then for the sub box, bit damp n mouldy....

Made a template and cut out bit of MDF...

Cut out where the sub will go and tried for size...

Pilot holes for wiring...

Then trimmed in blue alcantarer......

Then trimmed the plastic boot cover to match....

Stage one complete.....

Wired up, bit of heat shrink to keep it tidy...

Stage two, the base, made template again and cut MDF, plus little STI detail....

Trimmed in alcantarer....

Hardest part was getting to back of head unit, half dash came out, pain in arse, sorry no photos, eventually plugged in amp and spliced in remote wire, connected power cable to positive terminal of battery, then reconnected negative, switched on and to my surprise it worked!!!!!!!

Couple of little details to fit, but how it looks, ps, moved fire extinguisher from passenger footwell to boot...
