Right, i changed my std td04 turbo at weekend for the td05 on my bug. before change i was boosting around the 1.2 bar mark and now only seem to be around .8-.9 . i cant find a boost leak etc or any exhaust leak. anyone got an idea?

im due to see andy forrest soon for the car to be mapped.

Couldn't it be something to do with the actuator?
Sure Andy said to me the way the actuator was set on the one I got of Gary meant it couldn't run higher boost, so needed adjusting when he fit it???

I could be talking shite like. Laughing Laughing

You shouldn't be trying to boost it before having it mapped

no I backed off the pre tension on the actuator by 6 full turns(huge amount), there was far too much pre tension which makes it very difficult to control boost as it overshoots its target boost and the mapper would most likely have to pull the ignition timing back to prevent it overshooting which results in a loss of midrange punch
