will be ringland.

defo not a ringland 100% weve had the pistons with rings off under a microscope. no cracks.

a badly seated valve doesnt cause oil usage, what turbo you running?

turbo can be ruled out..... Had the OEM TD04 replaced with a 10k mile td04 and it still used oil then, replaced with a td06 20g and was the same...

is it pistons 2 and 4 which are cleaner ?

1 & 3 are clean

The noise seems to come from 2 & 4 area and are coked up. ill confirm later

well after a lot of hard work, double checking, machine work its back on the road

Still not convinced that i found a issue.... The boares were very glazed and wmay have been reason for oil usage, one of the oil scraper rings felt tight on removal. but cleaned and went back in no issues.

Ive fitted new heads and thicker gaskets and the ticking has also gone..


New pistons, Rings, Rebore ( honed ) and heads..

LOL nee dot look at other parts in detail
