PostSubject: going shopping tomorrow!!   going shopping tomorrow!! EmptyThu 27 May - 20:51

Hi guys, very new to the forum and going to have a look at the first of a few scoobies tomorrow, I've been through a few ctr's and know them inside out but total newbie to the impreza's.... what you guys reckon of £8995 for 2004 sti uk, 60k, sound reasonable? apart from the usual is there anything in particular to look out for? how is reliability? I wouldn't hesitate buying a ctr with 60k, I know they're bullet proof (barely ran in at 60k!!) I would imagine an sti with 60k is going to be just as reliable?

Seems to be an OK price TBH. 60K is high (ish) but as long as the car has been serviced correctly and run on the correct fuel it should be OK. You are sploit for choice at the moment but IMO for that money you should be looking at a JDM model (Jap Spec). They're a 2.0L twin scroll with plenty of go in them. If you could stretch to 10K you should get a real nice JDM nodel for that.

Look out for knocking rear mounts.
Shite service history.

tbh I'm being lazy really, it's from a garage and I would have the option to part ex my car in, just think it will take forever selling ctr with 80k on the clock with the market the way it is. I think from the point I was able to say the word impreza I've wanted one but as not long turned 24 it's only just about realistic now, insurance, running costs etc... so I'm dying to get one! It's a good idea looking at the JDM models but I'm just about pushing it as far as possible insuring UK model, I must admit I've seen a few private with better mileage just means selling mine!!

Don't rush into mate cos you've wanted one for so long. Bide your time and try and sell yours first, shit loads of cars out there. Insurance wise the UK & JDM are not that different now, you just need to use the right insurance companies. Advixe on here on who to use.
Take a look below at the red Spec C, bargain. Bought my old JDM WRX STI V-Limited from there.

The guy who owns PCM is called Immy. Very nice bloke and always has some cracking cars in stock. I'm tempted with the Arai edition Hawkeye bud, 2 kids now so i'm tempted to go back to 4 doors.
