Subject: Checking oil on my classic Wed 19 Sep - 8:19
It's doin my head I work in a garage and service and repair cars all week now I'm on to my second scoob and checking the oil on my own car is a joke it moves up and down my dip stick like no ones business what's the crack with checking oil on them?

All mine have been like that too I just put it down to the fact that they have a stupid dumbass sideways engine..
Best bet is to check it when the engine is nice and hot and still running

Park it level over night then check in morning stone cold and youl get a good reading thats how ive checked it like. If im desperado ill just take a few dips and average it pnsl

That's wot I do check about 10 times an average it I thought I was loosing the plot

warm the car up. Park it on level ground. Leave it for about 15mins and then check it. Do NOT under any circumstances check it when the engine is running as the majority of the oil will be getting pumped round the engine hence the sump will be more or less empty.
